The honest reading of these numbers is narrower than Zhipu's marketing suggests. GLM-5.3 does not beat Fable 5 or GPT-5.6 Sol on Terminal-Bench 3.0 or DeepSWE. It trails Kimi K3 on SWE-Marathon. Its strength is not universal dominance but concentrated excellence in terminal-based and tool-using workflows—the tasks that matter most for developer productivity.

The emergence of these capabilities is notable because Zhipu did not set out to build a cybersecurity model.
